13 september 2017
January through August 2017, JSC Freight One St. Petersburg carried more than 108.6 thou tons of cargos to Finland, demonstrating a 3-fold growth YoY. Freight turnover of the branch in the above transport direction increased 4 times, reaching 116 bln tkm.
The principal cargos carried are nickel matte, cement and ferrous metals.
“The indicators have grown thanks to an increase in loading volumes by key partners, namely Norilsk Nickel, a mining and metallurgical holding, and EUROCEMENT group. In July the branch has also launched transportation of Severstal products to Finland,” said Vladimir Stafeyev, Commercial Director of the branch.
In particular, the loading volume of nickel matte increased 6.5 times YoY to about 71 thou tons, cement grew 1.5 times to 36.6 thou tons. The volume of ferrous metals transportation totaled about 2 thou tons (the branch started carrying this type of cargo in July 2017).
The cargos were carried in cement hoppers, gondolas, and in containers on platforms from stations Slantzy, Kolpino and Monchegorsk of the Oktyabrskaya Railway through the border crossing Buslovskaya/Vainikkala to consignees in Finland.
